Save the money for a good pair of shoes

The Man, I just love good old irony! It’s amazing what people will buy into.  Fact is, most of us will buy anything if it comes in just the right package or comes with just the right offer at just the right price…won’t we? Even right down to the place we decide is going to lose weight for us.  When shopping for the perfect gym, do we require a day-spa, racquetball, indoor/outdoor pools, tanning salon, spinning classes, yoga, tai chi, hundreds of machines, tons and tons of free-weights, and a special smoothie bar to satiate our taste buds post workout? For most, the answer is yes. After all, why not spend $50-85/month for all the bells and whistles? Why not?

Because….

A) you can spend $20-35/month at a facility without a track, a basketball court, slides in the swimming pool and still achieve your desired results

B) less truly is more. One solid workout, 3 times a week, 100% focus and concentration on the task at hand.  No peripheral crap to keep you from your goal.  If you want to socialize, go to Lifetime or LA! Hell, just cut out the middle man and head over to Hooters for some wings and a beer…just finish what you started. But don’t fool yourself into believing that where you workout at will guarantee results. You are the enabler of your body.

Me personally, I workout at a Cardinal Fitness. $19.95 per month. Open from 5am-10pm Mon-Thurs, 5am-9pm Fri, and 7am-5pm on the weekends. Do I wish the hours were a little longer? Sure. Do I wish I could go swimming or hit the sauna after my workout? Yep. Do I have everything I need to meet my goals of losing weight and fat? Big time!
